Songs

I Was Made For You - Rivers Cuomo from the Album "Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo" (2007)
Hidden gems locked away for so long be the adorably geeky Weezer frontman, Rivers, have finally been released to the general public. Demos of Buddy Holly (Weezer [The Blue Album]) and a song called "Who You Callin Bitch?" are enough to convince anyone to listen to this album. This just so happens to be my favorite track of the bunch. Hopefully will hold everyone over until April 22.....

Boyz - M.I.A. from the Album "Kala" (2007)
Sri Lankan born, raised in Britain, and marching to the beat of her own drum machine, M.I.A. is the technicolor gem in the crown of hip hop, one of the few successful female artists of our generation, I can pretty much bet she establsihed a whole new genre with her mix of gunshots, cash registers, sea lion barks, and Kid Pix worthy animation.

Buttons - Sia from the Album "Some People Have Real Problems" (2008)
The song itself has been bouncing around the viral whirlpool that is YouTube, with a wacky video displaying just how many of the marbles Sia really has lost. Stark Contrast to the obviously deep "Breathe Me" that helped cap off the Six Feet Under series finale, this song is still deep, but in a less obvious way.

The Police and the Private - Metric from the Album "Live It Out" (2005)
Weird song. Doesn't make that much sense to me. But there is something haunting about it, and I had it on repeat when I was reading the seventh Harry Potter book, so I guess I "heard what I wanted to hear" when I was listening, because it reminds me alot of that book.

Shadowplay - The Killers from the EP "Sawdust" (2007), covering Joy Division from their album, "Unknown Pleasures" (1979)
An AMAZING cover. It does Joy Divisions original justice, but takes enough creative liscence to make it fresh. The Killers have certainly matured, and Brandon Flowers is able to put seemingly muted emotion into this song, similar to that evoked by Joy Divisions late lead singer, Ian Curtis.

Foundations - Kate Nash from the album "Made of Bricks" (2008)
Heavy british accent. Swearing. Trainers. All ingrediants that make a song that is just as brilliant as it is cheeky.

How Soon It Is - Morrissey
just listen.

PS. Change hxxp to http in the links
PPS. I purchased Foundations and Shadowplay, so I can't upload them. I recommend you purchase them as well!!

"You didn't think it was gonna be that easy, did you?"

I just watched Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2.
They were both pretty awesome movies.
I did not think I would like them very much, seeing as the saga was supposed to be a tribute to asian style martial arts/revenge flicks, but boths films were extremely well done. Due to the genre they were marketed as, Quentin Tarantino was able to make these films successfully lavish, with brightly colored clothing, samurai swords, blood gushing (alot), wonderfully choreographed fight sequences, and otherwise completely impossible occurences. One of my favorite scenes is in the final chapter of Vol. 1 when O-Ren Ishii and The Bride have the showdown in the house of blue leaves. I like the way there is a random room in which it is snowing. The way they are both dressed, O-Ren in traditional japanese clothing and The Bride in bright yellow leather looks really neat against the white backround. Vol. 2 was also fabulous. The man with the really large white eye brows that trained Beatrice Kiddo was really cool. I couldn't understand anything he said. But he could handle a samurai sword extremely well, so whatever he was saying must have been true. Kill Bill also made me want to learn how to whistle, but I don't think that will ever happen.

"You know, for a second there, yeah, I kinda did."

My mother threw away my cupcakes today which was ok because they were getting to be a tad bit stale, and everyone prefers their cupcakes fresh. I am really excited because Joey Macintire is coming to my school next week. I think I am going to get my picture taken with him. Saturday Night Live was very funny this week. I liked the Garden State references they kept making. It's great how Zach Braff can be so cool with making fun of this thing he wrote directed and stared in. I give him 3 high fives (or one high fifteen). I really hope I can see Pulp Fiction soon.

"Silly rabbit. Trix are for kids."

Fond of Y-O-U

Hello to all my friends out there in candy land! I have not LJ'd in a while. Lets pretend I gave it up for lent.
I have been listeneing to lots a music lately, so I will go ahead and fill you in on some jams I think are sweet. Enjoy!

Amy Winehouse-Rehab I find this song hilarious. In fact, to me, it is probably alot funnier than it is meant to be. But seriously, who sings a song about being an alcoholic and refusing treatment? Amy Winehouse, thats who! I think its becuase she herself has alcoholc in her name, so by default, she enjoys it. In large amounts. Becuase she herself is often under the influence. I havent listened to the whole cd, but this is a great way for her to make herself know across the pond!

David Bowie In General Dude. It's David Bowie. My two favorite songs are lets dance and fame. He is weird in like a really cool mysterious way. And then there was Ziggy Stardust. He also had a cameo in Zoolander and has killer fashion sense, so I wouldnt question him.

Tears For Fears-Mad World This song is covered by Gary Jules in the amazing movie Donnie Darko. I like this version becuase it s the original and very different from the remake, although I do enjoy the cover aswell.

80's Songs from Donnie Darko Pretty much one of the greatest mixes of 80's songs from one of the greatest movies. None of the songs were available collectively on a soundtrack to the film due to licensing issues. Songs Include; The Killing Moon-Echo and the Bunnymen; Head Over Heels-Tears for Fears; Notorious-Duran Duran; Under the Milky Way-The Church; Love Will Tear Us Apart-Joy Division (my all time favorite song)

Forever Thursday-How Can It Be The song from that JC Penny add. I really like it. It is plain and simple but still so pretty.

Bright Eyes-Four Winds I saw an add for the CD last night on MTV2! I really like this song. Bright Eyes is a nice group. Thanks to LG for introducing me bc now i have like 5 cds.

Klaxons-Golden Skans The ooo's in the backround are really what drew me to this song. I think I listened to it on repeat for like 3 and a half hours the other night. They also cover Justin Timberlake, which I guess is pretty funny.

Neutral Milk Hotel-King of Carrot Flowers Pts 2 & 3 I love you Jesus Christ. This whole album is really good. I started listening to NMH and Wilco bc, uh, it was in Jim Halperts Celebrity Playlist on iTunes, but these albums are genuinely good.

Oh, yeah! Two great things for the summer:
1. The Beastie Boys are releasing their new album! They be rocin this party 8 days a week.
2. The White Stripes are also releasing a new Cd this summer! June 19, to be exact, and the album is called Icky Thump. Infact, I will leave you, until next time, with the cover art! Tata for now!

These are like the best albums of all time. Check them out

Fall Out Boy - From Under the Cork Tree-Patrick Stump may nt be articulate, and the lyrics may not make any sense whatsoever, but, this is a great album.

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade- Like, the coolest concept album ever. Seriously.

My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge- Very different from there most recent LP, this album showcases the many different creative angles of the band.

PANIC! at the disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out- This band was discovered by Peter and produced by Peter and recorded on Peter's label. If Pete had something to do with this, it must be good!

I am so sorry it took so long to post them.; I had uploaded them Thursday evening, but then the entry wasn't posted or something. I don't know. But here they are know, so listen to them!

FALSE STATEMENTS OF THE MEDIA

Despite persistent rumors, Pete Wentz has not ended his relationship with you witch huntress/professional keytar player Brighid O'Brien and has not begun a relationship with witch huntress/ professional loser Anna Nilles, contrary to the statement on the cover of UnderGround Music Daily. Wentz released the following statement to the press:

"I don't know who made this up, but whoever did was playing a cruel sick joke. Me? and Anna Nilles? Together? It makes me throw up in my mouth alittle."

It is also believed that it was indeed Anna Nilles who planted this untruthful story. Her career in the field of with hunting has continued to take a steady decrease in goodness as of late. This story may have been created for publicity or perhaps to revenge a fellow witch huntress. O'Brien commented on the situation, saying:

"I really do like Anna Nilles. She is a great with huntress. She just needs to realize that Peter is way too cool for her. Maybe she should hang out with Teddy Geiger or Howie Day. I just want everything to be happy and smiling!"

Recently after this comment, Anna Nilles was reported missing when she failed to show up for her daily happy meal at McDonalds. The search efforts continue, but since no one really cares, it is doubted they will continue. Maybe if they supply all members of the search party with their own personal starbucks barista....

A Long Awaited Entry

Sorry I have not written in a while. I have been uber busy and a little sickly. But now I am well and it is the perfect time for me to write in a livejournal. What is new...

-I watched little miss sunshine on Christams. It was so good. My family didn't like it, but I did. I don't think they really like independent things. My mom also doesnt like the shins because I got a Shins ringtone yesterday and she said it sounded creepy, which may have been appropriate because the song is caring is creepy.

-I listened to alot of Joy Division, New Order, and Cute Is What We Aim For. I like those bands. Actually, You could probably count joy division and new order as one band, essentially, because new order is just the band members who formed the new band after the lead singer of joy division commited suicide. Isnt that a nifty fact??

-I tasted cupcakes. I love cupcakes. I made marble cupcakes. Basically, I took marble cake mix and baked it in a cupcake tray. Then i frosted them with chocolate frosting. They were so yummy.

- I smelled clean (I hope) becuase i got pink hello kitty soap. It smells so good. I absolutely love it.

-I felt the fur on this really cool hat i got for christmas. It is furry and warm. I look like an eskemo when i wear it.

Thats really it, I guess. YAY!

<s>To Do List</s>
=Listen to Fall Out Boy (Did someone say Fall Out Boy? May I add that the *new* Fall Out Boy cd comes out on February 6. They will be at the Avalon January 13. I hope I can go check out Pete and his indie band)
=Find Out when Boy Meets World is on. (How could I have forgotten about boy meets world? That is one of my faovrite shows! I know they play it on ABCFamily and Disney Channel all the time, i just dont know wat times. There were alsways morals to that show. It was so good. Feeney was the man. He made me what i am today. I like the episode where Topanga goes to Disney and Corey follows her bc. they were currently in a fight / broken up and then they kiss in front of the Adventures of the Deep or whatever fountain in Epcot and feed the dolphins and stuff. I also enjoyed the Halloween episode. I found it quite frightening. And i hated morgan, their little siste. What a little beeotch.)
=Clean Room (it is just a mess. really. i dont know who makes it so messy)
=Get my braces off ( i am getting them off tomorrow! yay!)
=Get my hair cut ( doing that afte braces! you wont even recognize me!)
=Memorize Spanish Dec. ( i volunteered to do it early. what was i thinking?)
=Finish The Devil's Rejects ( i started wathing it last night. It is really good. SOmewhat violent, though. not going to deny it. If you were to look at it strictly in technique, it would get an A+. RZ does a great job with creating the feel of a 70's slasher flick. And the soundtrack. The songs on it arent creepy. But set it to blood and screaming. Not gonna work. the song rock on by some guy whose name i do not recall. I cant wait to see how they use that one. And free bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. I still dont know how i feel about the bad guys. I may kinda like them...? I definitely like Baby Firefly. (I think?) I would play her if I could (would i?)
Well as you can see, i am quite busy. I must get to work.

Thanksgiving

I woke up at 10.13
I went downstairs and had a chocolate chip muffin.
Homemade.
I watched the Macy's Day Parade. (Why do people call it the Macy's Day Parade? Last time I checked, there was no such Holiday as Macy's Day. What would one do on Macy's day? Would it constitute a doy off of work and school? And how would one celebrate?)
I helped pick up the front hall. Let's call it a foyay. And I know that is not how you spell it. Just say it phonetically.
I watched Mad TV. The girl wanted to meet the M&M people and take a bite out of their backs while they were sleeping because, she had decided, they would never be able to turn around and see what was happening behind them. Then she asked a black man if it hurt to be black.
I went to the laundry mat because my dryer was not working.
I made pasta.
I folded clothes.
I took a shower.
I looked at coach bags on line.
I blew dry my hair.
I watched Project Runway.
I went to my aunt's house.
I ate turkey and mashed potatoes and gravy and stuffing and a roll and milk and 3 chocolate chip cookies.
I wrote my christmas list.
I went home.
I watched Ace of Cakes on the Food Network.
I highly recommend it.
I watched Grey's Anatomy while eating a Chocolate Mocha cake. (Anything to do with the fact i watched a cake show earlier? I sure think so.)
I watched ER.
I turned to Comedy Central and instead of the Daily Show and Colbert Report being on from 11-12, Drawn Together is on and I did not want to watch that so
I said goodnight to my mother and went upstairs.

Tomorrow is thanksgiving.

Tomorrow is indeed the day of the thanks and the giving. what better to do on that day than say thank you to the people that really matter?

WRONG.

Since every day can't be perfect, and everyone gets told thank you on thanksgiving, i have decided to make a list of people to not thank...

I would like to not thank Ms. Guzman for laughing at me because I was sitting alone in spanish class.
I would like to not thank comedy central for not allowing me nor my fellow siblings to see the daily show and/or the colbert report live.
I would like to not thank mtv for telling the population what music to listen to.
I would not like to thank the people at starbucks for their inability to put th red sprinkles on my peppermint mocha because it is, after all, the holiday season.

yeah. i think that's it for people i wouldn't like to thank.

I would like to thank LG for locating Mogis.

It's good to know heis safe and sound.

oh, yeah, happy thanksgiving.
